Import refers to bringing foreign goods into Korea for consumption or use. Import customs clearance is the process in which the importer submits an import declaration to the customs office for goods to be brought into Korea.
Once the customs office receives the import declaration, the customs officer reviews whether the declaration complies with the Customs Act and other relevant laws. If the declaration meets all requirements, the customs will accept the declaration and issue an import declaration certificate to the declarant, thereby allowing the release of the goods.
